About Me

Hello, my name is Leo Wiseman (they/them) and I am a student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. This study is being conducted as a part of my dissertation requirement for my Clinical Psychology Psy. D. As a member of this community, I became interested in this topic through my own gender expansive identity development. This interest grew into a dissertation topic after learning that this experience was more common for individuals with Autism and there were limited support models available for this population. By conducting this research, I hope to help build a better understanding of the lived experience of gender identity development for people with Autism. I plan to share this information with mental health practitioners so that they can make considerations to their treatment plans and interventions.
